Life beats down and crushes the soul and art reminds you that you have one.
~Stella Adler
A study by the National Center for Biological Technology concluded that making art "contributes to health and well-being".
They found that for women living with chronic illness art -
"-filled occupational voids,
-distracted thoughts away from illness,
-promoted the experience of flow and spontaneity,
- enabled the expression of grief,
-maintained a positive identity, and
-extended social networks."
